Singing Alongside Her is a research project dedicated to studying folklore performed primarily by women representing diverse ethnic groups living in what is now Russia. Over the course of two years, several expeditions were carried out, including interviews and live recordings of the material being performed.
The project was also accompanied by a visual exploration of landscapes, nature, and disappearing forms of architecture. Ultimately, all of this was brought together in the form of a website, where visitors can watch, read, and listen to the stories of women for whom singing is, in some sense, a form of salvation.
